Harnessing Our Collective Power with Lisa Armstrong, Director of Fashion at the Daily Telegraph

“I have no power individually, absolutely zero. But collectively, we do.”

Director of Fashion at the Daily Telegraph, Lisa Armstrong opens up about the changes that she believes still need to be made in fashion, for a healthier industry.

Many models today, are still rejected from jobs due to their size, despite fitting a “sample size”, a small size 8, creating an unattainable and frankly unhealthy drive for perfection, that echoes beyond the fashion industry. Negative body image and competitive nature is not only felt by the young people of the modelling word, but these issues ripple throughout the fashion industry, affecting all those within it, including according to Lisa, fashion editors such as herself.

Lisa asks for influential individuals within the industry to stand together to make the changes that we need to see today. And encourages all designers to get on board with the Be Well Collective, taking responsibility for the influence they hold over the fashion industry and therefore, the people within it.
