Live Well, Be Well: Series One

Max Rogers

“I think it’s crucially important to redress the balance that has fallen on our industry, with regards to body image, aesthetic and the way that people feel about their body.”

Be Well Collective ambassador and model, Max Rogers speaks to the Be Well about issues including body image, the role of models in influencing the younger generation and male mental health.

Max addresses the strive for the “perfect” aesthetic, that is felt by many young people within and outside of the fashion industry, can be extremely detrimental to mental health. He encourages others to focus on results based goals and to discover what their bodies are capable of physically, rather than how they look aesthetically.

“I am who I am and, I am what I am. Ultimately, that’s all that really matters.”

Are Models Role Modes?

Max shares his view on the influence that models have over the younger generation, outside of the fashion industry. In the age of social media, models now have the additional pressure to use their online presence as tool for their careers. This in itself can ultimately be detrimental with the additional form of stress and responsibility this brings. He highlights the importance of mental health support within the fashion industry and how the Be Well Collective providing this, will ultimately have a positive effect on the greater population.
