Movement is an essential part of wellbeing, with a range of benefits to our physical, as well as mental health. Movement, rather than “exercise” encompasses all types of physical movement. Whether it’s walking, stretching, yoga, sport, running, or training in the gym.

Research suggests that increasing our daily movement can have positive impacts on mental health for a number of reasons. By improving sleep quality which has knock on positive effects to our overall health, increasing our mood via the release of feel good hormone, serotonin, helping us to relieve stress and and acting as a positive coping strategy during tough times.
